Customers' Reviews: Z.K I listend to the songs from the Internet and liked them very much. I liked them even more after listening to the CD quality. This CD is simply a very beautiful addition to the great songs Fairouz has produced over the years. It is easy and very enjoyable to listen to, I can listen to it time after time and each time I can discover something new in it. It is the kind of CD that the more you listen to the more you like it. I cannot believe some people who keep demanding Fairouz to be what she was many years ago. Fairouz has done it all and she does not need to prove or show anyone that she can sing various type of music. Her ability to grow musically and continue to make history is beyond some people ability to comprehend. A Fan A beautiful rendition of beautiful smooth melodies, with a voice that despite the signs of age, remains as divine as ever !!! If CD sales is the only thing that matters, rest assured. We will buy anything that Fairuz puts out. BUT THEN many of us will make our own tape that does not have the Lunacies of Ziad eg NO SOBHEE'L JEEZ, NO MIKINSEE... I am in my 30's, a physician, have lived in the US for 20 years, love all kinds of music and I say: SOBHEE'L JEEZ is not a song. It is another abrasive mistake and expect one or two every time Fairuz releases a CD with Ziad. And the ending of Inshalla ma bu Shi ??? Some of his songs are not but a collection of bizarre notes, that will never get familiar and comfortable to hear. Luckily for Ziad, he has Fairuz'popularity to use to try and create this so called 'new school'. Well, as they say here it ain't that new anymore. And those who hated "Maarifti Fik" when I saw Fairuz at the Kennedy Center in 1986 still hate it. The applause was as cold as ice. It was not because Ziad made it (they jumped off the seats on Oudak Rannan) but because people wanted to hear melodies that had value. For your next CD, how about reasonable music like some of the songs on this album. If you cannot compose it, then ADAPT IT and don't distort it. A Bigger fan Three words: GET THIS CD! To sum it up, the music is addictive. You will find yourself repeating the tunes in your head all the time (That's what happened to me). Finally a true jazz album for Fairuz. Her voice is so jazzy and melow now, I don't know how she ever sang the other stuff. Bravo for Ziad Rahbani and bless him for this very unique talent. Now you can enjoy the collection of Fairuz with all colors: Falk, classical Arabic, Andalusian and now true Jazz. I love the new Fairuz so much and wish her and son Ziad many more successful collaborations. B R A V O !!!!!!!. Ziad Alkhoury another excellent CD, with wonderfull music and very soft charming conduction. Many "new" songs by Ziad Alrahbani few years ago is now part of Fairuz's "oldies". We will love everything Fairuz does, even if she just talks. e. You will want to close your eyes when you listen to this CD so that no external stimulus can intervene to dilute your communion with universal beauty. She will lift you, quench your thirst, resurrect you, and then throw you on a distant shore where you will wake up with eyes swollen from tears and with a taste of salt in your mouth. e. Ali What a shame. I am surprised why Fairuz is obligated to sing songs of this low quality just because her son wrote them for her. They are embarrassingly bad, tasteless and randome. I am not against a change of style, but a change of style needs *some* style, and this album (amongst her recent work) really lacks any style whatsoever. The only good song on this album is "Bitzakar bil Khareef", and the only reason why it is good is because the music is not written by Ziad. How about assigning the other Ziad to composer for her (Butrous). His latest compositions for sister Julia Butrous sounded more Fairuzian than Fairuz herself. Mohamad Well, the only thing can be said again is that she is the greatest of all..the desire of Ziad to revolutionize the the arabic singing and to introduce new horizons to the arabic lyrics is so great..this desire is served well by the experienced voice of her majesty..And lucky we are the arab listeners. In this CD,Fairuz and Ziad took a great challenge on the shoulders to bring the JAZZ music to the arabic listeners. It is a trial,it will succed like all other Fairuz trials.I am so surpprised of those who want Fairuz to go singing as she used to do 40 years ago..those do not love Fairuz, they just want her to die in the history..lucky, she is aware of that, moreover she is aware of her historical mission of modernizing the arabic singing and thinking. Thanks Fairuz and Ziad,we'll be waitting for more and different. midu When we talk about Fairouz,I always remember when They asked the great musician Abd El Wahab. What do you think of fairouz voice ? He said !! when the angels sing ! another great CD for Fairouz that take us to Lebanon's Mountains and villages which I would love to go Back one day after 12 years of being away. You guys have to buy this cd. Shamal Whatever Fairuz contributes it is distinguished and enormous. Particularly this Album, which I could not commence/initiate work every morning at my office without listening/attending to this Album (wonderfully SABAH WAU MASA). Thank you Fairuz for this gigantic performance/fulfillment. Shamal. Hisham 1. If you are stuck in the past and like to listen to the likes of Wadee elsafee, Farid Elatrash,etc.. this CD is not for you 2. If you think you have modernized yourself and listen to 'dance' arabic music from Amro Diab, Nawal elzogbee, etc.. this CD is not for you 3. If you like to listen to the mawaweel, this CD is not for you 4. If you love music with you heart and is smart enough to appreciate excellent arrangments and melodies or you are open into listening to new kinds of music - regardless of whether it was Fairuz or not - Then I have one suggestion to you: Buy the CD and enjoy it. It is probably one of the best Ziad has ever made. Mk If you don't know Jazz you’ll not get this CD, and you’ll be confused! If you love Jazz, you will love Fairuz doing it, because she matches to the best in this style! I read many other reviews for this CED read about the random notes and the confusion around the new style! Well this is Jazz for you! Brave and beautiful experience by Ziad and Fairuz! I love the CD. With really bad Arabic song coming out every day in hundreds, it’s amazing to experience something new by a legend! Looking forward to the next one!. Submit your Review |
