Customers' Reviews: Arthur I don't understand one word of Arabic, the music carries the message. After listening to some of Najwa's previous CDs, I got the impression that she was just another of these third-world singers who is trying to leverage her ethnicity and make it big, Western style. You know, rapping and trying to jazzify everything - make R&B sound Arabic, get the picture. I hate that. But this CD sounds like it is more from her soul and the soul of her people. I have been playing this CD over and over. It looks like she decided to forget about trying to be Western and started to take pride in her culture. Good idea! It works! In fact, it works well enough that I am buying several of these CDs to send to friends, who also do not speak Arabic, but will love it anyway. They will love it because they are sick to death of the homgenized Western R&B garbage that is force-fed to listeners the world over. Great job Najwa!. Johnny It's the greatest cd of this year...yet. The songs rock big time especially lehabeeb, saharni, mahoura aliek and edhak lil douniya. You must buy it people, you won't regret it. Like the album Tahamuni this one has catchy songs as well as ballads that consume ones soul. I will recommend this highly and can quite confidently say that you will not be disapointed. However I would have liked the album to feature more songs, I mean thirty three minutes of Najwa Karam is not enough!!!! Lets hope her next one lasts longer. Urusha Well, this Najwa's release of 2003 is definitely more than great! She had returned to her original identity, and this is what most fans want from her. Most of the songs are undeniably excellent, especially Lehbayib, which has an nice mawwwal and Hak El-Layali, a magnificent intoxicating song. Shou El-Mane' is one my favorite too, the music is so lovely, 100% Jabali sounds. Suprisingly, there is a Dabke-in-style song, Saharni, it's very energetic and shows Najwa's real ability on singing true Lebanese songs. Idhak Lil Dounya comes with newer beat, while Ktir Id-Dalal does have awesome melody. As usual, Najwa's vocal prsentation is getting better with her unique voice. J.M. I dont know a single word of Arabic but her voice just sounds so enchanting when she sings and the rhythm of the songs are beautiful, especially Saharni.
