I had a vinyl record of Al Atlal many many years ago. I loaned it and never got it back! I don't know where it came from because my family always listened to Fayrouz, Sabah, Kahraman, etc. Although I love all of the above, when I heard Oum Khaltoum's singing for the first time, her voice went directly to a special place in the heart. UM kulthum stay the best ,for ever , touch every heart deeply ,and every time you listing to this voice you feel special feeling and you discover new things in her pretty voice. You can tel that every thing is perfect ;voice music ,. ALL I CAN SAY :"words are unable to explain the meaning ,but umkulthum does".

Um Kalthoum was often singing on Cairo radio when I listened to it in Bournemouth,England, as a very young boy.Her beautiful phrasing and obvious depth as a singer was self-evident even to this English boy.Listening to this track has once again reminded me of the rich legacy of this great woman : impeccable timing and phrasing and , above all, words sung with passion.

Well, I was a little boy, when I first heard umkalthoom singing "nahjalbourda".I shared that experience with my parents. Latter, when I was teen attentively and regularly listened to her live broadcast bigining with her song titled Hob-Aih.I think the last one I listened to was somewhere in early 1968. Thank you for your excellent aramusic site.
